DescriptionThe whole story▼

Oro is Italian for gold, and at MV Agusta the name Serie Oro has long marked a limited first run of a new model, a tradition that goes back to the F4 of the late 1990s. The Brutale 1000 Serie Oro continued it in 2019 as a limited, numbered edition of the new four-cylinder Brutale. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for this bike, listed for 2019 and 2020, with an adjustable distance to the grip and a blade that can, if you like, be anodised in gold.

Key Features

  • Brake lever for the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro, 2019 and 2020
  • Fits the original master cylinder
  • Reach adjustable to the grip
  • Gold blade available in short, standard and long
  • Standard length approximately 138 mm
  • Black hub, CNC-machined and anodised aluminium
  • No folding joint anywhere in the lever

Construction and Material Quality

Gold that has been anodised looks different from gold that has been painted: the colour sits inside a translucent oxide layer grown from the aluminium, so the machined surface beneath still shows through. The EDF099 is CNC-cut from aluminium before it goes into the anodising bath. Accossato keeps the hub black on every lever; it carries the pivot and the reach adjuster. The blade takes the colour you order and runs from the hub to the tip in one fixed piece, without a hinge.

Gold for a Bike Called Oro

Choosing a blade colour for a Brutale 1000 Serie Oro is really a question of how much the lever should join in. Gold is the obvious nod to the name, and against the black hub it looks deliberate rather than showy. It is also one of the colours made in every length, so it does not narrow your choice of blade: short for two-finger braking, standard for the feel closest to the original, long for extra leverage. If you would rather let the bike's own finishes carry the attention, black keeps the cockpit calm and comes in the standard length, while silver, in standard or short, is the understated alternative. Blue, green, orange and red are there for contrast. Whatever colour you settle on, set the reach before the first ride so that the blade meets your fingers where they naturally rest on the wide bar. And on a limited edition, it makes sense to keep the factory lever, wrapped and labelled, together with the bike's documents.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro in 2019 and 2020, under the name Brutale 1000 Oro. It takes the place of the stock lever on the original master cylinder. No Accossato clutch lever is named for this edition, so the EDF099 is offered here on its own.

Road Approval

The EDF099 lacks a documented German ABE, which is why we sell it for track use.

Scope of Delivery

One brake lever in Accossato's own box, the blade in the colour and length you choose.
