There is a habit of reading a price list as a ranking, and this family of elements quietly refuses to cooperate. The PM200P14 is listed at five sixths of what the P08 version of the same element costs — the finer medium is the cheaper one here. Elsewhere in the Sprint Filter catalogue the relationship runs the other way. Both facts describe materials and how they are made, not a verdict on which filter is the better part, and the Vitpilen owner deciding between them gets nothing useful out of the comparison.

What the number on the ticket is actually about

A filter medium is priced by what it is and how it is produced. A woven cloth and a laid nonwoven mat are different articles with different processes behind them, and that is enough to move a price in either direction independently of how well either one suits your riding. Reading the cheaper one as the lesser one, or the dearer one as the better one, imports a ranking the manufacturer never made. The only question that helps here is what the Vitpilen breathes: dry, gritty summer air argues for the finer medium, consistently clean air argues for the more open one.

Where this element is honestly weaker

It passes less air. That is not a caveat buried in a footnote, it is the defining property, and on a bike used hard on clean tarmac it is a cost with nothing bought in return. Neither this element nor the P08 makes a standard 373 cc single noticeably faster — an insert filter does not do that. Both keep intake restriction low and keep it from creeping up between services; only one of them is specified for air with dust in it.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air on the clean face, directed outward, clears the PM200P14 in a couple of minutes and it goes straight back in. When the medium has taken on more than air will lift, lukewarm water with a mild detergent will finish it — rinse until the water runs clear, then leave the element in moving air until it is dry throughout.
