DescriptionThe whole story▼
A throttle housing with the right-hand switch block built into it, for the SC77 Fireblade. The JP CO HO017 replaces both parts as one machined Ergal body.
Key Features
- Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade (2017–2019)
- Integrated right-hand switch block
- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Black anodised
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- Replaces housing and switch together
Two Components, One Part Number
On the SC77 the right-hand switches sit inside the throttle housing rather than clamping separately to the bar. That is neat packaging and awkward servicing: a single worn contact means the complete assembly, and the complete assembly is not a cheap item from a dealer.
Honda's Electronics Bike
The 2017 Fireblade was the first with an inertial measurement unit, cornering ABS and nine-stage torque control, and much of that is selected from the right-hand cluster. Those settings are meant to be changed as conditions do, which puts far more traffic through the switch than earlier Fireblades ever saw.
Ride-by-Wire Underneath
The SC77 uses an electronic throttle, so the housing carries a position sensor rather than a cable drum. That makes the mechanical quality of the assembly more important rather than less: the sensor reads the tube's rotation, and any slop in the housing shows up as imprecision at the ECU.
Milled Rather Than Moulded
Cut from one block of Ergal 7075 with sealed switch elements, so there is no clipped joint to develop play and no moulded seam for water to enter during a wet session. On a bike this age the difference from the original is immediately obvious under the thumb.
One Finish
Black anodised. On the SC77, whose cockpit is a colour display surrounded by dark plastic, that is what the component should be, and the anodising runs through the surface rather than sitting on top of it.
