A Separate Part for a Separate Bike
JetPrime lists MK600Y for the road R6 and MK601Y for the RACE. The two motorcycles share a chassis and an engine and differ in their wiring, which is exactly the kind of distinction that a single wrong digit in an order makes expensive.
Yamaha's Track-Only R6
Euro 5 ended road sales and the model continued as a competition machine with no lights, no mirrors and no route to registration. The supersport class carried on regardless, largely on these bikes.
MECTRONIK Configuration
What each button does lives in the dashboard's setup rather than in the switch. The hardware supplies clean contacts and a firm detent, and the software decides whether a given press changes a map or marks a lap.
Grids Decided by Tenths
Supersport machines are heavily regulated and closely matched, so preparation and data separate riders rather than machinery. That is why systems of this level appear on motorcycles that cost less than the electronics fitted to them.
The Racing Loom
Even a bike sold without road equipment keeps Yamaha's own harness. Fitting MECTRONIK means replacing it, and this switch connects to the replacement rather than to anything the factory supplied.
Sealed Construction
Contacts sealed inside a one-piece milled housing. A track-only machine is washed hot after every outing and stored damp in transport, which is harder on switchgear than any road use.
A Defined Fitment
2021 to 2025, the production run of the RACE designation, with a MECTRONIK dashboard. Both conditions have to be met, and neither is visible from a photograph of the bike.
