When the Diavel arrived in 2011, Ducati had put a Testastretta twin from its superbike line into a long, low cruiser with a very wide rear tyre. On a bike like this, slowing down happens in two stages. The big twin holds back firmly as soon as the throttle closes, and the front brake adds whatever is still missing. The Accossato EDF099 replaces the original brake lever of the 2011 to 2018 Diavel with a CNC-machined aluminium lever whose distance from the grip is adjustable, so that second stage can be dosed with care.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato begins with a solid aluminium blank and mills the EDF099 to shape on CNC machines before anodising it. The finished lever has two tones: the hub, with its pivot bore and reach adjustment, is always black, and the blade wears the colour you select. Milling instead of casting leaves clean edges and a consistent cross-section from pivot to tip. The lever is rigid, a single piece with no joint halfway along, so nothing can add slack between the pressure of your fingers and the response of the master cylinder.
Two Stages of Slowing Down
On the Diavel, much of the everyday deceleration happens before your fingers move at all. Close the throttle in second or third gear and the twin pulls the speed down clearly, which means the front brake is often asked for a small, precise addition rather than a full stop. Small additions depend on where the blade sits. If it rests too far out, the first part of the travel is spent reaching for it; if it rests too close, the hand is already half closed before the pads touch the disc. The adjuster lets you put the lever in between, at the point where the fingertips meet it without effort.
For this kind of riding the standard blade, nearest in length to the original part, is the obvious starting point. The long version gives four fingers room and more leverage for riders who stop a heavy bike with the whole hand; the short one is shaped for braking with two.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Diavel from 2011 to 2018. That covers the original Diavel 1200 as well as the version Accossato calls FL, listed for 2015 to 2018. For the clutch side of the same bikes there is the ESH011, with the same black hub and the same choice of colours, so the two levers can be ordered as a pair. Owners of the later Diavel 1260 or Diavel V4 will find separate listings for their bikes.
Road Approval
The EDF099 has no documented German ABE, so we offer it for use on the race track.
