DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fogging is the reason most riders buy a Pinlock, and a scratched or delaminated insert brings the problem straight back. VZ15058P is Shark's PINLOCK V4, a clear insert sold on its own for 33.12 EUR. It is one of six Pinlock numbers in Shark's list, and they are not interchangeable by guesswork.
Key Features
- Clear (INC) Pinlock insert, supplier line PINLOCK V4
- One size, listed weight 51 g
- 33.12 EUR, list price 36.80 EUR
- Sibling numbers VZ15059P (V5), VZ16018P (V2), VZ16012P, VZ16013P and VZ1530P
- No helmet series named by Shark
Before you order
Shark gives no helmet model for VZ15058P. The Pinlock family has several generations, V2, V4 and V5 among them, and an insert only works on a visor made for it. Check the number on your existing insert or its original packaging. If it says PINLOCK V5, you want VZ15059P; for V2 the number is VZ16018P.
How it goes on
A Pinlock insert is held between two pins on the inside of the visor. Take the visor off the helmet, flex the insert slightly, locate one edge behind a pin, then the other, and make sure the soft seal touches the visor all the way round. Handle it by the edges so no fingerprints end up in the middle.
Scope of delivery
One clear insert. The visor itself and the pins are not included; the pins belong to the visor.
When to replace it
An insert is a wear part. Replace it once the seal no longer lies flat, once fog creeps in from the edges, or once scratches sit in your line of sight. Clean it with water only and let it dry in the air: the absorbent layer does not like being rubbed.
