Diameter and length identify the tube; both follow the fork model.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Dimension B 98.5 mm

Öhlins part number 21005-49

Dimension A 36 mm

Function

Öhlins gives it as 36 mm, 98.5 mm; nothing about that is approximate. A bent inner tube is scrap — straightening changes the wall and it bends again. Inner tubes are coated because they run in bushings and seals for their whole life. Öhlins fork parts are specific to the fork model, not interchangeable across the range.

Original Öhlins Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.

Getting the Number Right

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 21005-49 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. The published dimensions are dimension a 36 mm, dimension b 98.5 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Fork parts are specific to the fork, not to the motorcycle it happens to be fitted to. Axle clamps are machined so the axle clamps without pinching the fork out of alignment.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21005-49

Category: Inner Tubes

Dimension A: 36 mm

Dimension B: 98.5 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21005-49_04d9e957-64b8-4ba4-9ef1-c3e8d3518a00.png?v=1788879234
