How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure. It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result. Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears. At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly taut, but must not constrict. If your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the smaller one: the padding of a new helmet settles by a few millimetres over the first few hours of riding.

A replica is a helmet you buy with your eyes, and this one earns the look: red, blue and white cut across the shell in hard diagonals, the Malaysian flag at the chin, dense ornamental linework filling the panels, and DANISH set above the visor. Underneath it is the standard KRE 2 PLUS.
Whose helmet this is
Hakim Danish is a Malaysian Moto3 rider from Terengganu, racing number 13 for Team AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSI. In his rookie season he took a podium at Mugello and then his maiden Grand Prix win at Brno, coming through from a twelve-place grid penalty to lead on the last lap.
The shell carries 13 and OFFICIAL GP REPLICA above the visor and the Malaysian flag at the chin — this is his 2026 design, not a national colour scheme.
What a replica is and what it is not
The livery is paint, applied to MT's KRE 2 PLUS shell. It is the same TRIC tricomposite construction, the same declared 1,300 g, the same four shell sizes, the same visor mechanism and the same ECE 22.06 approval as the plain Pure A1 version at €499.95.
The €50 buys the artwork and the process it takes to lay it down — masking, multiple passes, clear coat over a design rather than over a colour. It does not buy a different helmet. We would rather you knew that than assumed the replica was the better-built one.
It also does not make it a race helmet. FIM homologation lives on the separate KRE 2 PLUS FIM Racing #2, and no paint scheme adds it.
About the 2026 finish
The design is built around a diagonal split: red sweeping over the crown and down the chin bar, deep blue through the temple and side panel, white breaking the two apart. Inside the blue and red areas sits a dense ornamental pattern — closer to textile motif than to racing graphics — with the KRE² PLUS mark in black across the white rear quarter and the MT logo low on the chin bar.
It is gloss throughout, which suits a graphic this busy: gloss keeps the colour separations crisp, where matt would flatten them. The cost is the usual one — gloss shows swirl marks under low sun, so wash with plenty of water and a soft cloth, never dry.
Four shell sizes, and the shell MT does not call carbon
The specification worth the money on this platform is invisible under any livery: the KRE 2 PLUS is moulded in four separate outer shell sizes across six helmet sizes.
Cheaper helmets spread a whole size range over two shells and make up the difference in padding — which leaves small riders carrying a large object and large riders in a shell that fits by compression. Four shells keeps the outside proportionate to the head inside, which is a fit argument, an aerodynamic argument and a weight argument at the same time.
MT lists that shell as TRIC: a tricomposite layup on the patented MT-ULCS ultra-lightweight shell process, three reinforcing materials in one wall.
Full carbon is reserved for the FIM Racing #2 at the top of the range. On this helmet the paint covers the weave anyway, so the distinction is one you can only read on a spec sheet — which is exactly why it belongs on one.
1,300 g, and where you feel it
MT declares 1,300 g, making this the lightest full-face in our MT range — 80 g under the KRE 2, roughly 200 g under the Thunder 4 R SV, and 350 g under the older carbon KRE+ S.
That gram number is MT's own, issued for a helmet barely in the shops. Nothing of ours has weighed one, and brands disagree on which size they quote and whether the screen is on it.
MT-QVSS: tool-free, with metal where it wears
The visor lifts off and clicks back without tools on MT's patented MT-QVSS mechanism, carrying a metal insert at the pivot rather than polymer on polymer.
On a replica this matters more than on a plain helmet, oddly enough — a livery you like is a helmet you keep, and the pivot is what develops play after the hundredth visor swap.
MT-ESLS, the wide aperture and Pinlock® 120
The MT-ESLS holds the visor with a double lock against airflow and against a glancing knock, and its quick-open button parks it at a set anti-fog detent instead of swinging it wide — the crack you want at a cold red light without losing sight of the junction.
Behind it, the MT-EVA aperture opens further than on MT's road models; you read it at the shoulder check and down behind the screen. Glass is rated for Pinlock® 120 Max Vision, one grade clearer than the Pinlock 70 the standard KRE 2 accepts. No packing list has been issued for this model, so treat the lens as a separate purchase.
Ventilation and the carbon spoiler
A chin intake plus three upper intakes feed channels through the EPS to rear outlets — through-flow, not vents that stir the air where they sit. The rear spoiler is a carbon part, deliberately compact, and its job is holding the wake attached so the helmet is not shoved sideways in another vehicle's turbulence.
Living with a replica
Two honest points that nobody puts on a replica page:
- A busy graphic shows damage differently. A scuff across a colour boundary reads as a scuff; the same mark on a plain black helmet disappears. This is a helmet to hang up rather than to put on the mirror.
- Replica liveries are single-season. When the 2027 design lands, this becomes last year's helmet on the shelf — which is only a problem if resale matters to you, and no problem at all if you bought it because you like it.
What it does not have
- No integrated sun visor — carry a tinted visor or sunglasses.
- No FIM homologation. FRHPhe-02 belongs to the separate KRE 2 PLUS FIM Racing #2 at €699.95.
- No independent safety rating. SHARP's three-star "MT KRE SV" is an earlier, different helmet; nothing in the KRE 2 or KRE+ families has been SHARP-tested, and no ADAC or Snell result exists.
- Double-D ring — secure, and slower in gloves than a ratchet.
When something wears out
Visor, cheek pads and lining are replaceable. A replica adds one wrinkle: a cracked painted part is not restockable in the way a black one is, because the livery is produced for a season. If a spoiler or a vent cover matters to you cosmetically, buy it while the model is current. The EPS liner cannot be replaced at all — it crushes once and ends the helmet.
