DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES RSV4 blanks the secondary air ports in both of the RSV4's cylinder heads with plates machined from solid.
Key Features
- Aprilia RSV4 (2009–2026)
- Blanks the secondary air ports in both heads
- Machined from solid aluminium
- O-ring sealed, no jointing compound
- Original fastener positions
- Standard housings refit at any time
Two Heads, Two Plates
The V4 carries a reed housing on each bank, fed from the airbox. Both have to be closed or the deletion means nothing measurable.
Deep in the Vee
Access is the awkward part rather than the work itself. Reaching the rear bank means the tank and the airbox out, which is why this is done alongside other jobs.
Why Not Just Cap the Hose
A blocked hose leaves the reeds in place and the port open behind them. A cracked reed then passes exhaust gas into a dead end rather than into the airbox, which solves nothing.
Machined From Solid
One piece per bank with an O-ring in a turned groove. Nothing inside to age, nothing to inspect and no service interval attached.
An Adjustable Chassis
Rake, swingarm pivot and engine position all move on an RSV4. It is a race chassis sold with lights on it and a great many end up being used that way.
Before Any Fuelling Work
Air entering after combustion shifts every lambda reading, and everything decided from those numbers inherits the shift.
Original Fasteners
Aprilia's own bolt positions and torque figures. Nothing is drilled and no thread in either head is cut.
Not the Solenoid
Its circuit is monitored independently of what is bolted to the heads and needs the electrical eliminator.
Homologation
The system is part of the bike's approval and removing it ends road legality across Europe.
Reversible
Both standard housings refit on their own fasteners with no replacement seals required.
Eighteen Model Years
Aprilia has kept this engine architecture current since 2009 and left the secondary air arrangement essentially alone throughout, which is why a single pair of blanks covers bikes separated by more than a decade of other changes.
