DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 016 license plate light eliminator lets riders remove the number plate light from the Ducati Hypermotard V2 890 (2026) without triggering a dashboard warning. It is a plug-and-play electronic device, intended for racetrack and off-road use once the light is taken off the bike.
Key Features
- Ducati Hypermotard V2 890 (2026)
- Plug-and-play electronic device, no splicing required
- Simulates the presence of the original license plate light
- Allows the light itself to be physically removed
- Prevents dashboard errors from appearing after removal
Tricking the Dashboard, Not the Rider
Modern dashboards monitor whether a bulb like the plate light is present and working, and flag an error if it isn't. This device replicates the electrical signature of a working light, so the dashboard sees nothing out of place even though the bulb is gone.
A Simulated Signal, Not a Real Bulb
There is no light involved at all in this device; it simply presents the same resistance and signal the ECU expects from the original bulb's circuit, which is enough to keep the dashboard satisfied.
Removing Weight and Clutter from the Tail
With the plate light eliminator in place, the physical lamp, its housing, and its wiring can all be taken off the back of the bike, cleaning up the tail section for riders building a track-only setup.
Why This Belongs on the Track, Not the Road
A working number plate light is a road-legal requirement, so once it is removed, the Hypermotard V2 890 is no longer set up for public roads in that respect. This eliminator is intended for racetrack and off-road use.
A Straightforward Plug-In Fit
Installation connects this device where the original plate light's wiring used to run, without cutting into the loom or adding extra wiring elsewhere on the bike. The connector itself is designed to match the original wiring exactly, so there is no guesswork about polarity or pin position during installation.
