DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACCGP TR039 fits the Street Triple 765 S, cutting the electronic throttle's rotation to just 60 degrees. Triumph's entry point into the Street Triple range keeps its ride-by-wire mapping and sensor untouched by the swap; only the mechanical travel needed to reach full throttle is reduced.
Key Features
- Triumph Street Triple 765 S (2017–2022)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
The Simpler Street Triple
The S trim trades some of the R and RS's sharper suspension for a more straightforward, road-biased setup, and its throttle response benefits from the same directness rather than extra sophistication. A shorter throw suits a bike built to be easy to ride quickly without demanding much from the rider.
A Shorter Mechanical Path
This unit covers the same opening the standard grip manages, but in notably less rotation. The reduction comes from the internal mechanism of the throttle itself, not from any change to the electronic signal it produces. The sensor's calibration and the signal it sends to the ECU remain exactly as Triumph set them from new.
Machined From One Piece
Rather than a cast or moulded housing, the unit is cut from solid Ergal 7075 aluminium billet. That construction keeps the internal bearing surfaces and spring seat consistent, with nothing to flex or loosen at a seam the way a two-piece housing eventually can.
A Triple That Likes to Be Used
Triumph's 765 triple pulls cleanly from low revs but rewards being used higher in the range, and how quickly a rider can call on that upper reach depends partly on how far the throttle has to rotate to ask for it. Less rotation shortens that gap.
The Cockpit Stays as It Was
Fitting the new unit does not move or replace the Street Triple's switch cluster, so indicator, horn, and mode buttons remain exactly where the rider's thumb is used to finding them. Only the grip and the mechanism driving it change.
A Short Relearn After Fitting
The usual last step after installation is a throttle position relearn via the bike's diagnostic port, bringing the ECU's reference in line with the new unit. It is routine work, completed in a short workshop visit. No change is made to the fuel maps that sit beneath the throttle position reading.
