DescriptionThe whole story▼

The XSR900 GP wears a full fairing and a paint scheme borrowed from Yamaha's Grand Prix history, but underneath it is the CP3 platform with clip-ons and a riding position that drops the wrists. That position is precisely where a fixed-reach clutch lever starts to feel wrong.

Key Features

  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
  • Milled Gilles face for a secure gloved grip
  • Bolts to the original master cylinder without adapters
  • Reach adjustable through 35 positions, set by hand
  • Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Machined and Treated

Cut from billet aluminium, anodised black, phosphated at the pivot. On a bike bought partly for how it looks, a lever that stays black and tight matters as much as one that works — a corroded pivot shows itself long before it fails.

Clip-Ons Change the Reach

Dropping onto clip-ons rolls the wrist forward and moves the hand relative to the lever. What felt right on an upright XSR900 does not necessarily feel right on the GP, and the difference is a few millimetres rather than a few centimetres. Thirty-five shallow detents are the right resolution for that kind of correction.

Understated by Design

The lever is black with nothing on it but the milled Gilles face. On a bike with a deliberate paint scheme, that is the point: it should read as equipment rather than as an aftermarket announcement.

Road Approval

Carries ABE No. KBA 91203 for German public roads. No documentation entry is needed, but the printed certificate belongs with the papers. The blade's break point is part of the approval and must not be altered.

Scope of Delivery

A single black clutch lever for the XSR900 GP. The clutch switch actuator is carried over from the original lever and is not supplied.
