DescriptionThe whole story▼

At a track school where riders spend two days working on technique, instructors often encourage them to pay attention to lever feel as much as to lines. A Kawasaki Versys 1000 S owner who wants to explore that can try the AGPA109 front pad in the ZXC ceramic racing mixture, which Accossato lists for the 2021 to 2024 model. Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA109 for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 S, 2021 to 2024
  • ZXC ceramic racing compound, SKU AGPA109ZXC
  • Accossato: a ceramic racing compound
  • A distinct lever character for circuit riders
  • Suits track schools and multi-day events
  • Also produced as ST, EV1 and EV2
  • No ABE on file; for racing

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato sums up ZXC as a ceramic compound that is ideal for racing. A ceramic base gives the pad its own feel at the lever, which some riders find easier to read at the limit. On a Versys 1000 S at a track school, that makes ZXC a way to learn how pad choice changes the bike's behaviour into corners. Accossato also says it keeps pad temperatures in check to reduce fade. The ZXC compound is mounted on the regular AGPA109 plate.

Learning Brake Feel at a Track School

Track schools often include exercises on trail braking and brake release, where the rider eases off the lever while turning in. The way the pad responds as pressure falls matters as much as how hard it bites. A ceramic racing compound gives the rider a different reference, and over two days, the differences become clear.

Clean the discs before fitting ZXC so no residue from the previous pads remains, then bed the new pads in carefully. Keep notes on lever position and feel after each session. Check the pads for even contact and the fluid level between sessions.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the front of the Versys 1000 S of 2021 to 2024, Accossato's listing is AGPA109. AGPP88 is the rear pad for the same years. No Accossato disc is recorded in our data for this model. The front brake uses two calipers and a box contains one set, so the front requires two boxes. Compare pad shapes before fitting.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or German test document for AGPA109ZXC. It is sold for racing.
