DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Z H2 is Kawasaki's supercharged naked bike, introduced for 2020, and the pull of its engine is the reason many owners chose it. On a circuit that pull is at its most impressive, and also at its most demanding on everything around the engine, including the fuel supply. Riders who try to stretch a tank to the very last lap tend to learn this the hard way. For the Z H2 of 2020 to 2025, Accossato offers the FC126, a fuel cap with quick release, CNC-machined from aluminium, and the pin on its pawl is yours to choose from six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Z H2, 2020 to 2025
- Listed by Accossato as Z 1000 H2
- Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium, robust and durable per Accossato
- Quick-closing pawl
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately if damaged
- No German ABE on record; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
The FC126 is a machined aluminium part through and through: Accossato cuts it on CNC equipment and rates it as tough and long-lasting. Its lines are new and uncluttered. The quick-closing pawl is the bit you operate, and it opens or shuts the Z H2's tank in moments, so the filler stays open no longer than the pour itself. That pawl also carries the pin colour, one of six. Should it ever be damaged, a replacement pawl is sold on its own and the cap stays in service.
Why Not to Run It Nearly Dry
When only a little fuel is left, it no longer covers the pump's pick-up in every situation. Hard braking throws it towards the front of the tank, a long fast corner pushes it to one side and strong acceleration sends it backwards. On the road, with gentle inputs, a low tank rarely matters. On a circuit, a bike ridden hard on the last of its fuel can stumble or hesitate at exactly the wrong moment, on the exit of a corner for example, and the Z H2 makes such moments more dramatic than most. The rule is simple: do not cut it fine. Refuel while the tank is still reasonably full, especially before the last session of the day, when riders are tired and tempted to squeeze one more run from what is left. Do it with the engine off and the bike on a stand, pour steadily, and make sure the FC126's pawl has closed before the Z H2 goes back out.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list names the Z 1000 H2 for the FC126, with the years 2020 to 2025; in our catalogue that is the Z H2. The SE version has its own entry. At Inter-Pace the same cap is also listed for the Ninja H2 SX, the supercharged sports tourer. Please confirm your bike's model year against the list before ordering.
Road Approval
The FC126 has no German ABE and no parts certificate on record, so it is intended for track use. On public roads the Z H2 should keep its original filler cap, which as a rule opens with the key.
Scope of Delivery
