DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many riders the Honda CBR125R was the first motorcycle of their own, a small four-stroke sports bike that could be ridden at sixteen on an A1 licence in much of Europe. Many of them move up to something bigger within a year or two, and the parts they bought for the first bike are often sold with it or left in a drawer. For the CBR125R from 2011 to 2015, Accossato lists the FC125, a quick-release fuel tank cap made entirely from CNC-machined aluminium, with a quick-closing pawl and a pin in the colour you choose.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Honda CBR125R, 2011 to 2015
- Body machined from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing quickly
- Pin colour: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The FC125 is aluminium from top to bottom, cut on CNC machines, and Accossato calls it robust and durable; the styling is new. The cap closes with a quick-closing pawl, so the tank of the CBR125R can be opened and shut again in a moment, and the pin on the pawl is yours to choose: gold, green, blue, red, silver or black. A pawl damaged in a fall can be replaced on its own, which matters on a bike that often belongs to someone still learning.
Moving Up From the 125
When the time comes to sell a CBR125R and buy something bigger, it is worth thinking about which parts should go with it. A fuel tank cap is usually specific to one bike, but Accossato's list is more generous here: the FC125 is also given for several larger Hondas, and at Inter-Pace the same cap is catalogued for the CBR500R, the CBR650R and the CB650R, among others. A rider who moves from the 125 to one of those may therefore be able to keep the cap and use it again. Before swapping it over, refit the CBR125R's original cap so that the bike is complete for its next owner, clean the Accossato cap and its seal, and look the pawl over for wear. Fit it to the new bike with the engine cold, make sure the seal seats evenly, and check the filler for dampness after the first fill. Confirm the model year of the new bike against the list first, because not every year of every model is covered.
Fitment and Compatibility
The CBR 125 R is on Accossato's application list for the FC125 from 2011 to 2015, and those are the years this product covers. Earlier CBR125R models are not listed for this cap. Before ordering, check your bike's year, or ask us if you are unsure which model year you have.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC125, so it is for circuit use. The CBR125R's factory cap normally locks with the ignition key, and on public roads it should stay fitted.
