DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Yamaha XSR900 built up for the circuit needs a front brake that can take heavy stops lap after lap. Accossato's AGPA97 front pad in EV2 racing, SKU AGPA97EV2, is listed for the XSR900 from 2016 to 2026 and the Abarth edition from 2017 to 2022. It is for riders whose weekends revolve around practice sessions, qualifying and races, and who set up their bike around fixed braking markers and consistent lap times rather than around the commute.

Key Features

  • EV2 racing compound, SKU AGPA97EV2
  • Yamaha XSR900 2016 to 2026, Abarth 2017 to 2022
  • Accossato calls it a top racing compound
  • For qualifying and timed sessions
  • Made for late, hard stops from high speed
  • Two pads per box for one caliper
  • Rear pad AGPP88, discs DK077 and DKS073 listed

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls EV2 racing a top compound for competition. On a track-prepared XSR900 it is aimed at hard, repeated use at the end of straights. We keep to that description and add nothing about materials or temperatures. Like all Accossato pads, it is designed to wear slowly and to limit fade by keeping heat in check, according to the maker.

Markers and Qualifying Laps

On a qualifying lap, the difference often comes down to how late and how consistently you can brake. Riders on EV2 racing usually pick a marker, a board or a kerb, and work their way deeper in small steps. On an XSR900 built for the track, record how the lever feels after each session and inspect the pads between outings. For a mostly road-going XSR900 with only rare track visits, EV1 is the more suitable version of the same pad; ZXC is the ceramic racing alternative.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPA97 pad is catalogued by Accossato for the front of the Yamaha XSR900 from 2016 to 2026 and the XSR 900 Abarth from 2017 to 2022. Two calipers sit at the front, so fit two boxes. For the rear of the XSR900, Accossato offers AGPP88 over the same years, and it also lists the discs DK077 and DKS073. Clean the pistons before retracting them, check the fluid level after fitting, and do not start a session until the lever is firm and the pads are bedded.

Road Approval

These pads have no ABE or approval certificate in our records. We therefore offer them for competition purposes.

Scope of Delivery
