DescriptionThe whole story▼

Some F700GS owners ride the bike a good deal harder than the sales brochure ever imagined. The middleweight GS is light on its feet for its size, the wide handlebar gives leverage in tight corners, and a rider who knows a stretch of back road carries a pace on it that surprises people. Sooner or later a friend suggests an open pit lane day. Accossato presses the AGPA92 shape in its EV1 street/track compound for riders at that point, and the application list covers the BMW F700GS from 2013 to 2018.

Key Features

  • Front pads in the EV1 street/track compound, ordered as AGPA92EV1
  • BMW F700GS, model years 2013 to 2018, front wheel
  • Accossato places this material between fast road riding and amateur circuit use
  • Made for a lever that is used firmly and often
  • Two pads per box, which is one caliper's worth
  • The same shape exists in a mild Organic (OR) version for everyday duty
  • AGPP91 is the rear pad for this bike, listed from 2013 to 2016
  • No approval paperwork on file; offered for track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's own summary of this material is brief: excellent grip for street riding and for amateur track use. Read in practice, that describes a pad expected to behave normally on the ride out of town and still have something in reserve after a dozen laps, when a commuting mixture would be asking for a rest. A circuit demands something no journey to work ever does, namely the same hard stop repeated with barely any cooling in between, and the friction material has to keep answering the lever through all of it. As with every version of this shape, a box contains two pads and fills one caliper on the F700GS.

Getting Ready for a First Open Pit Lane

Preparation counts for more than pace on a first circuit day. Fresh brake fluid is worth more than any other change you could make, because fluid that has spent years in the system has taken in water, and water turns to vapour long before the fluid itself does. Pads want bedding in beforehand on the road, with a run of firm stops from moderate speed, so that you arrive with a lever you already know. Out there, slow the bike in a straight line, choose a fixed object at the side of the track as your marker, and move it later only once the previous lap felt unhurried. Between sessions, look through the caliper at what is left of the friction material and check the level in the reservoir, which falls as the pads thin.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's data puts the AGPA92 on the front wheel of the BMW F700GS for the years 2013 to 2018 and for nothing older. One box equips one caliper, so establish what your front end carries before you decide on the quantity. The rear of the same bike is catalogued for the AGPP91 pad, though only as far as 2016. If the machine turns out to be a commuter after all, softer materials wear the same outline. No Accossato disc is listed for the F700GS.

Road Approval

Neither a German ABE nor any other approval document exists for this pad in our records. We supply the AGPA92EV1 for the circuit and for competition, not for the public road.

Scope of Delivery

Two Accossato pads in the EV1 street/track compound, the AGPA92 set for one front caliper.
