QJ Motor sells the SRT 800 in four guises — plain, S, SX and X — and the equipment sheets separate them properly: bodywork, screens, wheels, luggage provision. The air filter catalogue does not separate them at all. A single code answers all four, because what an element has to match is the sealing face and depth of the airbox it closes, and no trim level moves either. The question the parts list is really asking is which housing you have, not which badge is on the tank.
Key Features
- Dry woven polyester at 80 microns, rated at 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Retention measured at 93.13 % of 100-micron particles
- Covers the SRT 800 in plain, S, SX and X form from one part number
- Roughly double the filtering area of a conventional performance element
- Sits in the standard airbox: nothing cut, nothing remapped afterwards
- Cleaned and refitted rather than binned; two years of warranty from purchase
One housing, four specifications
The suffixes on an SRT 800 describe what surrounds the rider, and those are real differences. They also stop at the fairing. Behind them sits one intake: one airbox, one lid, one sealing face, and Sprint Filter draws its panels to that face. Hence a single code for the whole family, and an ordering step simpler here than it often is elsewhere. The corollary is worth saying too — if the intake on your bike has already been altered, the code describes the factory part rather than what is now on your machine.
What the standard weave is there for
The P08 is the medium Sprint Filter designates for road and track use, and its two published figures explain why: 80 microns of aperture, 5,050 l/m²/sec of rated flow. Finer cloths exist in the range and hold back more, but they also pass less. That exchange runs both ways and cannot be escaped, so a finer medium is a different tool, not a superior one. None of them will make a standard SRT 800 noticeably stronger either: an airbox, throttle bodies and a factory calibration were signed off together, and a panel dropped into the middle of that does not rewrite it. The benefit is duller — an intake restriction that starts low and returns to where it started at every cleaning, rather than drifting upwards until somebody buys a new element.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air does most of the work. Aim it at the clean face and let the trapped load leave the weave by the route it arrived, rather than driving it deeper. Where a greasy film has settled, hand-warm water with a little mild detergent lifts it; rinse until the water runs clear. Dry it in moving air, well away from heat guns, radiators and open flame, because heat is what ruins polyester — dirt does not. The PM281S goes back into the box dry and untreated, with no oil of any kind. The maintenance sheet is filed under the Downloads tab on this page.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the airbox of the QJ Motor SRT 800 and its S, SX and X versions, model years 2024 to 2026, one element per machine. Three bikes carry this code, across QJ Motor and Benelli; check your year against the fitment list before ordering.
