Retaining rings come in a groove-specific thickness — the next size does not hold. Pins and dowels locate parts to each other; without them the assembly is merely clamped, not positioned. A wrong washer under an adjuster changes the click range without anyone noticing why.

Why the Original

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01218-45 in this case. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk. Width is what has to match — the bore follows the bearing.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01218-45

Category: Ball Joint Spacers

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01218-45_8e17fbee-312e-472c-8c6d-a50086fa84f1.png?v=1788873439
