DescriptionThe whole story▼
When every gram and every tenth counts, the LighTech carbon chain guard for the Honda CBR1000RR gives you a genuine race-bred upgrade — shedding mass over the stock cover while delivering the kind of obsessive finish you expect from a marque that supplies championship-level paddocks. Autoclave-manufactured from genuine premium carbon fibre, part number CARH1712 is built to perform as hard as the Fireblade it dresses.
Key Features
- Genuine carbon fibre construction — substantially lighter than the OEM plastic chain guard, contributing to overall weight reduction on the CBR1000RR
- Autoclave manufacturing process ensures maximum structural rigidity, precise dimensional tolerances and a flawless high-gloss finish
- High-gloss surface treatment delivers an aggressive racing aesthetic that complements the Fireblade's bodywork at track days and on the road
- Reliable protection for the chain and adjacent drivetrain components against dirt, debris and damage
- Precision-engineered for a direct, drop-in fit — no modification required for 2008–2019 CBR1000RR models
- Part number CARH1712 for straightforward ordering and workshop identification
Race-Bred Construction
LighTech produces this chain guard using the same autoclave carbon process found in MotoGP and World Superbike workshops. Resin and carbon layers are consolidated under controlled heat and pressure, eliminating voids and producing a component that resists flexing and fatigue even under sustained high-speed track conditions. The result is a cover that does not merely look the part — it holds its shape and protects the drivetrain throughout the full rev range the CBR1000RR is capable of delivering.
Finish & Aesthetics
The high-gloss lacquer top coat amplifies the natural weave of the carbon fabric, giving the chain guard a jewel-like presence whether the bike is stationary in the paddock or leaned over at the apex. Unlike painted plastic covers that fade, chip and scuff with normal use, the carbon surface ages gracefully and cleans up easily. To maintain the gloss long-term, use only pH-neutral cleaning products on the carbon surface — avoid alkaline degreasers and abrasive cloths.
Fitment & Compatibility
The LighTech CARH1712 carbon chain guard is designed exclusively for the following model:
- Honda CBR1000RR — model years 2008 to 2019
The cover mounts using the factory fixing points, requiring no drilling, slotting or additional brackets. If you are unsure whether this part suits your specific build year or SP variant, contact the Inter-Pace team before ordering.
