DescriptionThe whole story▼
For the M1000 XR, the JP CO BM038 replaces the combined throttle housing and right-hand switch block with one body machined from Ergal 7075.
Key Features
- BMW M1000 XR (2024–2026)
- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Integrated right-hand switch block
- Black anodised
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
The Fastest Crossover Anyone Builds
201 hp, winglets, M brakes, and mounting points for panniers. The M1000 XR should not make sense and does, because BMW resisted the temptation to make it uncomfortable. It will cross a continent and then run lap times that leave sports bikes wondering what happened.
A New Motorcycle With Old Switchgear
The right-hand assembly is the one BMW has been fitting across the S1000 platform for years, and on a machine this new it is the component most obviously carried over. That is not a criticism of the engineering. It is simply where an owner building the cockpit deliberately tends to start.
Controls at Touring Speeds
With the screen up and luggage aboard, this motorcycle cruises at speeds where the airflow around the cockpit is turbulent and the hands are being pushed. Finding a control by feel becomes harder as pace rises, and a machined perimeter around each button is what gives the thumb a fixed reference.
Milled, Sealed, One Piece
Cut from a single billet with no moulded joint, and with sealed switch elements inside. On a bike that will be ridden in weather and washed regularly, that construction is the specification that matters rather than any figure about the alloy.
Standard Connector Throughout
The unit plugs into BMW's own connector. Cruise control, the riding modes and the heated grips continue to function exactly as before, and no dealer coding is required after fitting.
Very Few on the Road So Far
The M1000 XR is new enough that examples are still uncommon, and the aftermarket around it is only beginning to fill in. Parts that fit are worth noting when they appear, because for the first year or two of any BMW model the choice is narrow.
