The Hyper-Naked Nothing Answers
A V4 with no fairing and 175 hp has kept the Tuono at the top of its class through several generations of rivals. The engine is the entire argument and it has never required a second one.
Aerodynamics on a Naked Bike
The current Tuono integrates winglets into its minimal front bodywork. It reads as strange until the speed rises, at which point the front wheel stays loaded where a conventional naked would go light.
Aligned Holes
Both mounting points on a single axis, matching one of the two clamp arrangements. The offset pattern covers the other and the two are not interchangeable in either direction.
Continuously Adjusted Damping
The Factory's Öhlins read the inertial platform and change constantly. On a short motorcycle with wide bars, braking, turn-in and drive load the chassis in rapid succession.
Wind Against the Hands
With almost no bodywork the rider's hands are pushed back at any real speed, and reaching for a control becomes a deliberate movement against pressure. A block that shifts in its mounting is a nuisance every time.
Black Anodised
Converted into the surface. On a Factory carrying gold suspension and dark bodywork, black keeps the bar out of the conversation entirely.
Machined From Solid
One block of Ergal 7075, elements sealed inside. Nothing clips together, so nothing loosens under a V4's firing interval.
No Loom Work
Pre-wired to the motorcycle's own plug. Nothing spliced, nothing coded, nothing to explain to a workshop later.
A Short Wheelbase and a Light Front
The Tuono inherits the RSV4's compact chassis and then raises the bars, which moves weight rearward and makes the front end easier to lift than any rival's. It is entertaining and it is also the reason Aprilia fitted a steering damper as standard rather than listing one as an accessory.
