DescriptionThe whole story▼
Half the weight and 4.2 Nm more, both at once. The Versys 1100 replaced the 1000 for 2025 with a bigger engine under Euro 5+, and this is the first Akrapovic silencer built for it — 2.47 kg against a standard unit of 5.05 kg, with the largest torque gain landing at 5,500 rpm.
Key Features
- 2.47 kg against the standard 5.05 kg: 2.6 kg and 51.1 per cent less
- 3.3 PS and 4.2 Nm more, both at 5,500 rpm — the touring band, not the peak
- High-grade titanium muffler outer sleeve over a stainless steel inner structure
- Stainless steel link pipe, where heat cycling is worst
- Carbon fibre end cap and heat shield, the shield protecting rider and gear
- A profiled muffler shape developed specifically for the Euro 5+ Versys 1100
- EC and ECE type approved
The Profile Is There for Durability
Akrapovic states that the distinctive shape with its special profile was developed to add durability to the Euro 5+ version of the Versys. A profiled wall carries load and resists denting better than a smooth one of the same thickness — the same reasoning behind the imprinted surfaces on the company's adventure parts.
On a Versys that matters. It is a tall tourer with the silencer high on the right, carried through car parks, over kerbs and occasionally onto its side with luggage attached. Half the weight is only useful if the part survives the life the bike leads.
4.2 Newton Metres Where a Tourer Lives
5,500 rpm on a 1,099 cc four is sixth-gear motorway speed with panniers and a passenger. Both gains sit there: 3.3 PS and 4.2 Nm. Akrapovic names enhanced throttle response as the development goal rather than a peak figure, and the measurement reflects that choice.
Peak output rises modestly, from 128.4 to 129.3 PS. The useful change is in the middle of the curve, which is the part a loaded Versys spends its life in.
What the 1100 Changed
Kawasaki did not simply bore out the Versys 1000. The 1100 arrived under Euro 5+ with a revised engine, new electronics and a different exhaust system, which is why the older S-K10SO22-HWT does not fit and why Akrapovic developed this silencer rather than adapting the existing one.
For an owner that has one practical consequence: check the model year on the registration document before ordering. A 2024 Versys is a 1000 and a 2025 is an 1100, and from a photograph they are hard to tell apart.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-K11SO1-HGJT covers the Kawasaki Versys 1100 for model years 2025 and 2026. For the Versys 1000, Versys 1000 S and SE from 2019 to 2024 the corresponding part is S-K10SO22-HWT — the two are not interchangeable. Installation is quoted at around 30 minutes.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
