DescriptionThe whole story▼
One shield for two different Akrapovic exhausts. That is unusual — most heat shields in this catalogue are matched to a single silencer — and Akrapovic states it plainly: the shield is an option for both Slip-On Line systems on these machines.
Key Features
- Fits both Akrapovic Slip-On Line systems for these Ducatis
- Hand-crafted carbon fibre, replacing the standard shield
- Four model names: Monster 797, Scrambler 800 Icon, Classic and Scrambler 1100
- Eight model years under one part number
- Akrapovic publishes no weight figure for it
Two Systems, One Shield
Akrapovic built more than one slip-on for the air-cooled Ducati twins, and the shield mounts to either. For a buyer that removes a question that usually has to be answered before ordering: whichever Akrapovic silencer is on the bike, this shield belongs to it.
It does not fit Ducati's own exhaust. The mounting geometry is different and the visual point of a matched part disappears.
Four Names, Two Engines
The 803 cc air-cooled twin powers the Monster 797 and the Scrambler 800 in its Icon and Classic forms. The Scrambler 1100 uses a larger 1,079 cc version of the same architecture, and Ducati kept the exhaust route close enough that one shield serves all of them.
Eight model years is broad coverage, and it makes this an easy part to buy for a used machine whose exact model year is not to hand.
Where It Sits
High on the right, on the silencer itself, in plain view. These are motorcycles with no fairing and a deliberately spare look — the Scrambler in particular is styled around exposed mechanical parts — so the shield is a visible surface rather than something tucked away.
What Akrapovic Does Not Publish
No weight, no thickness, no temperature rating. The description is two sentences and neither contains a figure, so nothing is estimated on this page.
What is certain: hand-laid carbon cloth, cured and trimmed, replacing the factory shield on the existing mounts.
Hand Crafted
The cloth goes into a mould by hand, cures under heat, and is trimmed and finished afterwards. That process is where the price sits on a part this small — the carbon itself is not the expensive part.
An Ageing Air-Cooled Twin
The Scrambler and Monster 797 of these years are used motorcycles now, frequently bought as a second bike and modified gradually. That is the ownership pattern where a visible carbon part earns its place: the machine is being enjoyed, not depreciated.
Fitting
The standard shield unbolts and this one goes on the same points. Hand tools, a few minutes, nothing to adjust afterwards.
Road Approval
Not applicable. A heat shield carries no emissions or noise approval. What the motorcycle may do on the road is decided by the silencer and the link pipe ahead of it.
