There is a cable extension in this kit. That single item is what separates it from the fitting kit for the earlier Tracer 9 — the Euro 5+ machine carries a second lambda sensor, its wiring has to reach further once the Akrapovic silencer is in place, and Akrapovic supplies the extension to make that possible.

The Second Sensor Changes the Wiring
Euro 5+ requires a sensor after the catalytic converter as well as before it. That second sensor sits further back along the exhaust, and when an aftermarket silencer moves the geometry, its cable no longer reaches the connector comfortably.
A cable extension is a small part and an easy one to overlook in a parts list. Left out, it turns into a stretched loom, a strained connector and eventually a fault code.
Different Contents, Not Just Different Fitment
Worth being precise about, because the two Tracer 9 kits look interchangeable on a price list. The earlier kit lists a muffler clamp, a bracket and mounting material. This one lists a muffler bracket, a cable extension and mounting material.
They are not the same box with a different label. Ordering by model year alone is how people end up with the wrong one.
How to Tell Which You Need
Look at the exhaust. Two threaded sensor bosses with two cables running to the loom means this kit. One means the other. The emissions class in the vehicle document says the same thing in words: Euro 5+ here, plain Euro 5 there.
Mandatory
Akrapovic's word again. The silencer for this motorcycle ships without the hardware that mounts it, and this kit is that hardware. An order containing only the exhaust cannot be completed on the bench.
Keep the Original Parts
Yamaha's own bracket and its sensor wiring come off with the standard silencer. Keep them together and keep them labelled — returning a Tracer 9 to standard is a common thing to do before a sale, and the parts that make it possible are small enough to lose in a garage.
Three Names, One Platform
Tracer 9, GT and GT+ share the subframe and the exhaust mounting. The GT+ adds radar-based cruise control and the GT better suspension and luggage, and none of that reaches the silencer.
What It Does Not Do
Nothing for power, nothing for sound, nothing for weight. It is the set of parts that lets the exhaust be fitted at all, and it should be bought with that expectation and no other.
Road Approval
Not applicable. A bracket and a cable extension carry no approval of their own. The silencer and the catalytic converter decide what the motorcycle may do on the road.
