DescriptionThe whole story▼
Dry dust is as abrasive as mud and far less obvious about it. A long gravel road in August looks harmless and quietly fills a rear caliper with fine grey powder that goes on grinding for the rest of the afternoon. Riders who take a Scrambler Classic along farm tracks and unsurfaced back roads in summer are in exactly that position. Accossato presses the AGPP91 in the Off-road sintered material, article AGPP91STMX, as the version it makes for riding away from tarmac. The entry runs from 2015 to 2019.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Ducati Scrambler Classic, 2015 to 2019
- AGPP91STMX: the AGPP91 shape in Accossato's dirt material
- Listed for riding off the tarmac rather than for daily road work
- For dust, gravel, dry ruts and the grinding that comes with them
- Two pads in the box, one rear caliper's set
- The model's five production years are covered in a single block
- The identical shape is also pressed in OR and ST
- No German ABE on file; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes this version by where it is used rather than by how it behaves, and the honest reading is that it exists for riders who leave surfaced roads behind. Dust is the condition that defines the job. Once fine grit sits between the friction face and the disc, every application is also a small grinding operation, and the pad has to keep answering the pedal while that goes on. The AGPP91 plate is the same one under the road versions, so a summer set can go in before a week of gravel and come out again in September. Resistance to fading is among the properties the firm claims for its pads in general, and a long dusty descent, with the pedal in near-constant use, is where a rear brake meets heat of the slow, grinding kind.
White Roads in August
Unsurfaced back roads make a fine summer route and a poor environment for brakes. The surface is loose, dust hangs in the air behind the bike in front, and the rider ends up using the pedal almost continuously to keep the machine settled on a washboard surface. With spoked wheels and an upright riding position, a Scrambler Classic travels that way very naturally; the caliper simply pays for it.
Afterwards, wash the dust off before the next ride bakes it on. Let water run through the caliper rather than at the seals, then look over the friction faces for stones pressed into them, because one trapped stone will score a disc in a single outing. Check the pedal travel, look at the fluid, and clean the pistons before they are pushed back. A few firm presses before setting off put everything where it belongs.
Fitment and Compatibility
The rear application covers the Classic from 2015 to 2019 without interruption, and nothing inside that block is treated separately. One box is a caliper's set, and the bike has one rear caliper. Accossato's front article for the same machine is the AGPA177 across the same years, while the disc list shows the DK008 together with the DKS074. Choosing a dirt material does not extend the years, so a later Scrambler from a different branch of the range still needs its own entry.
Road Approval
There is no ABE and no German test document for the AGPP91STMX in our files, so these pads are supplied for competition and closed-course use only.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPP91 pads in the Off-road sintered material, boxed as the set for one rear caliper on the Scrambler Classic.
