DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is a small, light adventure bike that many owners use for commuting and easy gravel exploring. Accossato's AGPA72 front pad in the Organic mixture fits the Versys-X 300 from 2017 to 2021, and in our garage covers the Adventure and Urban packs as well. It is meant for riders on their first bigger bike, for riding-school use and for anyone who rides mainly in town and wants a quiet, gentle front brake that spares the disc.

Key Features

  • AGPA72 front pads for the Kawasaki Versys-X 300, 2017 to 2021
  • Organic mixture, article AGPA72OR
  • Accossato: long life and little disc wear
  • Soft, easy-to-dose front brake for new riders
  • Quiet at low speed and in traffic
  • Works from cold without warming up
  • This plate is also made as ST, EV1 and EV2
  • No German approval papers; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato presents this mixture as one that keeps performing over time and limits wear on the disc. For a light bike used in short urban trips, where the front brake is touched constantly but rarely hard, that is a practical combination. The maker also says that its pads keep temperatures in check to hold off fade, and stop strongly. The Organic layer is fitted to the AGPA72 plate.

A Gentle Front End for New Riders

The Versys-X 300 is often the bike on which people learn to ride properly. A front brake that grabs can be unsettling for a beginner, especially on a light machine with long-travel suspension. The Organic pad builds force steadily as the lever is squeezed, which makes emergency practice and slow-speed control easier to learn.

After fitting, bed the pads in with a number of gentle stops on a quiet street. Check the pad depth now and then, and keep the fluid at the correct level; it drops slightly as the pads wear.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA72 for the front of the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 from 2017 to 2021; our garage shows it for the base bike and the Adventure and Urban versions. The rear pad is AGPA77, catalogued for 2017 to 2023, and Accossato also offers the DK271 disc for this model. The Versys-X 300 has a single front disc, so one box does the whole front.

Road Approval

We have not been given an ABE or approval certificate for AGPA72OR. It is sold for competition purposes.
