DescriptionThe whole story▼
The first CBR600RR of 2003 borrowed its look from Honda's RC211V MotoGP bike, with the exhaust tucked under the seat, and many of those early bikes are still in use today, often as affordable track machines. Keeping an older supersport going means replacing worn parts one by one, and the clutch lever is often among them. Accossato's ESY688H is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the CBR600RR, listed for 2003 to 2017 and again for 2022 to 2025, with adjustable reach.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda CBR600RR, listed 2003 to 2017 and 2022 to 2025
- Replaces the original lever at the clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Short, standard (roughly 138 mm) and long blades
- Seven blade colours, black hub
- Milled aluminium, anodised; fixed blade
- Sold for track use: no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining turns a piece of aluminium into the ESY688H, and anodising gives it a black hub and a coloured blade. The hub is where the pivot and the reach adjuster are; the blade is fixed firmly to it, with no hinge. On an older bike, where the original lever may have years of wear at its pivot and marks from past tip-overs, a new machined lever restores a clean, straight control, and the anodised finish keeps it looking that way without paint to chip.
An Early CBR600RR, Kept Going
Many early CBR600RRs have lived several lives: a road bike first, then a track-day machine, sometimes a club racer. Each of those lives leaves marks, and the clutch lever, sticking out at the end of the bar, is one of the first parts to suffer in a slide or a fall in the garage. A lever that has been bent back into shape or has lost its tip is not something to keep on a bike that sees the track. When you replace it, take the opportunity to look at the rest of the clutch system too: the cable or line for wear and correct routing, the pivot area for dirt, and the take-up once the new lever is fitted. Then set the ESY688H to your hand. Riders who inherit an old bike often ride for years with the previous owner's lever setting without noticing. The short blade suits two-finger work on track, while the long blade eases slow riding in the paddock. For a bike more than twenty years old, it is a small but worthwhile refresh.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESY688H for the CBR600RR from 2003 to 2017 and again from 2022 to 2025, with no entry for the years in between, and it fits the original clutch mounting. That covers the first generation of 2003 to 2006, the bike introduced for 2007 and the later models of 2022 to 2025. The brake lever, Accossato's EDF033, is listed for the CBR600RR from 2007 to 2021.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the ESY688H; consequently, we sell it for the track.
