DescriptionThe whole story▼
The RS 660 is a sports bike with room for a passenger, and on a sports bike that second person sits higher than the rider and further back. Every departure then asks more of the left hand: pull away too eagerly and the passenger rocks backwards, feed the clutch in hesitantly with too few revs and the engine bogs down. The Accossato ESV004 is a clutch lever for the RS 660 of 2021 to 2023, machined from aluminium, with adjustable reach and three blade lengths, so a gentle two-up take-off comes more easily.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Aprilia RS 660, 2021 to 2023
- Goes on the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Three blade lengths; standard approximately 138 mm
- Long blade in blue, gold, green or orange for a lighter pull
- Black hub, seven blade colours, anodised aluminium
- CNC-machined in one piece, with no folding joint
- Track use only: no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
Instead of being poured into a mould, the ESV004 is milled from a solid aluminium blank on CNC equipment, which keeps its dimensions consistent and its edges clean. Anodising finishes it in two tones, the hub black and the blade in the colour you pick, with the colour formed in the surface of the metal rather than painted on. The pivot and the reach adjuster sit in the hub, and from there the blade runs as a single rigid part to its tip, with nothing along it that could work loose.
A Passenger on a Sports Twin
Passengers feel every jerk before the rider does. On the RS 660 the pillion sits above and behind you, and when the bike surges away from a standstill, their body sways backwards and then forwards into yours. The cure is a longer, calmer release: a few more revs than usual, the clutch eased through the friction zone over a count of two or three, and the throttle opened fully only once the plates are engaged. It also helps to ask your passenger to hold on and to lean with you rather than against you.
A lever in the right place makes that slow release easier to repeat. Set the reach so the friction point arrives with your fingers slightly curled, where they have the finest control, and resist setting it so close that the fingers feel cramped. The long ESV004, available in blue, gold, green and orange, spreads the clutch travel over more finger movement, which helps when you want to meter the take-up precisely. The standard blade of about 138 mm is the everyday choice and the only length made in black and in red.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESV004 for the RS 660 from 2021 to 2023. It fits the original clutch mounting and replaces the standard lever. The same clutch lever reference appears for a number of RSV4 models, while the RS 660's front brake is covered by the EDF099 for the same three years. Both levers share the black hub and the colour range.
Road Approval
Road approval under German rules (ABE) is not documented, so this is a track part.
