DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP MJ 008 gives the Brutale 1090 a fuel curve tailored to that engine rather than to every market the model was ever sold into.
Key Features
- MV Agusta Brutale 1090 (2012–2017)
- Preset fuel module, no programming required
- Corrects the mixture without remapping the original electronics
- Plug-and-play with model-specific wiring
- Around 200 g, fitted in an evening
- Unplugs at any time, nothing is written to the motorcycle
The Bigger Four
Before the 1000 there was the 1090, a 1078 cc four in the Brutale chassis with a delivery that rewarded a very deliberate right hand.
With an Aftermarket Exhaust
A freer silencer changes what the engine can pass and the standard controller can only compensate so far. This is the commonest reason owners look at a fuel module, and it is the situation where the difference is most obvious.
The Diagnostic Question
Because the original controller is untouched, its fault memory stays honest. Anybody who has chased a fault on a motorcycle with a flashed controller understands why that matters.
Between the Loom and the Injectors
The module is wired in series with the injector circuit, which is the least invasive place to intervene in a modern motorcycle. Everything upstream carries on unaware and everything downstream simply receives a slightly different instruction.
What It Will Not Do
Raise a rev limit, alter ignition, change a rider aid or repair a worn sensor. Being clear about that is more useful than a longer list of what it does.
Why It Is Priced Where It Is
A developed curve, a model-specific harness and a sealed body. None of that is expensive to make in isolation and all of it is expensive to get right for a hundred different motorcycles.
A Long-Lived Component
There is nothing in it that ages: no relay, no moving part and no user setting to drift. Fitted properly it will outlast several sets of tyres without being thought about.
Not a Cure for Age
An engine with worn valve guides or low compression runs badly for mechanical reasons. Adding fuel masks a symptom and delays a repair that will only get more expensive.
