DescriptionThe whole story▼
A complete exhaust system for a 125, with a catalytic converter and full EC/ECE type approval to Euro 5+. That combination is rare, and it is the whole reason this part exists: an A1 rider can have a hand-built titanium system without putting their registration document at risk.
Key Features
- 3.03 kg against the standard 5.19 kg: 2.2 kg and 41.6 per cent less
- 600 cpsi catalytic converter integrated into the link pipe — this is what makes the approval possible
- EC and ECE type approved and Euro 5+ compliant
- High-grade stainless steel construction with a lightweight titanium muffler outer sleeve
- Conical, compact muffler shape drawn to follow the XSR's heritage lines
- Tuned for throttle response from the full-power 125 cc engine
- Plug-and-play, no remapping needed
Why the Power Figure Does Not Change
Peak output stays at 14.1 PS, and that is not a shortcoming. The A1 licence class is capped at 15 PS (11 kW), and a 125 sold into that class is built to sit just under the limit. A road-legal exhaust for such a machine cannot lift it past the cap without taking the homologation with it.
What the system does instead is sharpen how the engine responds — Akrapovic names throttle response as the tuning target — while removing 2.2 kg. Anyone promising you a meaningful power increase on a type-approved A1 machine is promising something the law does not allow.
The Converter Is the Point
A 600 cpsi converter sits in the middle of the link pipe. Cell density that high treats the exhaust gas thoroughly enough to clear Euro 5+, which is why this system carries a certificate where most full systems for small bikes do not.
Compare it with a decatted part: the weight would drop further and the noise would rise, but the motorcycle would fail its next inspection. On a bike ridden to school or to work every day, that trade is not worth making.
2.2 Kilograms on a 140 kg Motorcycle
The XSR 125 weighs around 140 kg ready to ride. Removing 2.2 kg is more than one and a half per cent of the whole machine, taken from the high rear — the position where a light bike feels it most in slow manoeuvres and direction changes.
