DescriptionThe whole story▼

Youth motocross does not stop for rain, and a wet race day on a CRF150R teaches young riders things a dry one never does. The track turns to clay, the ruts get deeper with every lap, and small crashes become part of the routine: a front wheel that tucks in a rut, a bike that stops dead in a bog and topples over. The levers take the brunt of it. For the CRF150R of the 2024 model year, Accossato lists the AGD275, a silver replacement brake lever in the original form.

Key Features

  • Original-type replacement brake lever for the Honda CRF150R
  • Listed by Accossato for the 2024 model year
  • Silver
  • Right-hand lever for the front brake
  • Designed by Accossato to give good value for money
  • Accossato reports greater resistance after damage or a crash, owing to its production process
  • One lever per pack
  • No German ABE or test mark on record; for racing and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

For a race bike that is expected to crash now and then, a spare of the original type makes sense. The AGD275 follows the form of the lever Honda fitted, so the young rider finds the brake exactly where they are used to it, and Accossato developed it with value for money in view. The company also states that its way of producing these levers improves their resistance after damage or a fall. It is silver. No further details are published by Accossato, and we stick to what it says.

After a Moto in the Mud

Mud does two kinds of damage to a brake lever. The obvious one is the bend or break from a fall, and after a wet race that is easy to spot once the bike is clean. The less obvious one is what mud does to the pivot: fine grit works its way in, the grease turns to paste, and the lever begins to feel stiff and slow to return. Clean the CRF150R with a gentle stream of water rather than a strong jet aimed at the controls, then dry the levers and look closely at each one. Replace a lever that is bent, however slightly, instead of straightening it. When the new AGD275 goes on, clean the pivot and its bore thoroughly, apply a thin film of grease and make sure the lever works the master cylinder piston cleanly and comes back all the way. Then pull it a few times in the pits and try the front brake at walking pace before the next practice. Muddy days also call for a careful look at the brake pads and the disc, but that is a separate job.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list shows the AGD275 for the CRF150R of 2024 only. For the earlier years, 2007 to 2018, the replacement brake lever is the AGD93, and between 2019 and 2023 no original-type brake lever from Accossato is listed for this model, so check your bike's model year before ordering. We also list the AGD275 for the CRF150F. On the clutch side, the AGS271 covers 2007 to 2019 and 2024, and the AGS74 2007 to 2019. Accossato's CNC levers B8206 and C7101 are the tuning option for the CRF150R.

Road Approval

We have no approval documents for this lever, so it has neither a German ABE nor a test mark. We list it for racing and competition use, the setting a CRF150R is built for.
