DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Yamaha MT-125 rarely stays with one rider for long. It is the machine somebody learns on, rides for a season or two and then sells to the next person in the same position, often within the same club or the same family. Accossato lists it from 2015 to 2019 under the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium whose pawl carries a pin in one of six colours. Small bikes get used harder than their owners admit, and they are worked on more often too.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha MT-125, 2015 to 2019
- Accossato lists the MT 125 and the MT 125 A
- Machined from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and shutting the tank
- Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl available separately as a spare part
- Check the application list before ordering
- No German ABE documented; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium on CNC machines, and nothing else: that is how Accossato builds this cap, and the firm considers the result robust and durable with a fresh design. The quick-closing pawl is the working part, opening the MT-125's tank in one movement and closing it in another. Its pin is where the colour sits, chosen from six options when the order is placed, and it is the only decision to make. If that pawl is bent or worn after a few hard seasons, it can be bought by itself rather than as part of a new cap.
The Bike That Gets Handed On
A machine that passes from rider to rider collects a history, and the parts on it tend to outlast the people who fitted them. That puts a quiet value on things that can be maintained. A cap whose moving element is separately available can be put right by a second or third owner for the price of a small part, instead of being tolerated in a worn state because a replacement seems disproportionate. If you fit one to an MT-125, keep the original somewhere safe and pass it on with the bike when the time comes. The next rider will be glad of it, and a machine that leaves with all of its standard parts is worth more than one that does not.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entries are written as MT 125 for 2015 and 2016 and MT 125 A for 2015 to 2019, and this listing covers both. The same FC124 appears at Inter-Pace under the MT-03, the MT-07 and the MT-09. Please compare your machine with the application list before you order.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for this cap, so it is supplied for closed circuits. The MT-125 keeps its standard cap, normally opened with the ignition key, for riding on public roads.
