DescriptionThe whole story▼
The first ride after the winter break is rarely the smoothest. The GasGas EC 300 has stood in the garage for weeks, the rider's timing has faded, and the trail has changed with the weather. Most riders take a fall or two that day, usually slow and mostly harmless. A clutch lever broken in one of them, though, can end the first outing of the year before it has properly begun. The C7284, Accossato's folding clutch lever for the EC 300 of 2012 and 2013 and of 2018 and 2019, is machined in Italy from Ergal 7075.

Construction and Material Quality
Fitting a new lever is a natural part of getting a bike ready after the winter, and the C7284 arrives as a fresh part machined in Italy from solid Ergal 7075. Accossato uses this high-strength aluminium alloy so the lever can be strong and light at once, and lists reliability as the third aim. The lever has two sections: a dark base that stays on the clutch pivot and a blade in the colour you choose, connected by a joint that lets it fold. It is long, as Accossato's clutch levers are, made to take four fingers.
The First Ride After Winter
Winter changes both bike and rider. Fuel ages in the tank, the chain dries out, and cables and pivots stiffen if nobody has looked after them. The rider's reactions slow too; a clutch that was used without thinking in the autumn now needs attention. On a big two-stroke like the EC 300, which responds quickly to the throttle, the first rides of the year tend to include a wheelie that goes further than intended and a stall or two in an awkward place.
Many of those early falls go to the left, as riders put a hesitant foot down in a tight turn. A careful check before the ride helps: fresh fuel, a lubricated chain and a look at every lever and pivot. The C7284 adds a joint to that picture, so that if the bike does topple onto its clutch side, the blade has a way to fold forward rather than snap. It may still be damaged in a harder fall, but it gives the first ride of the season a better chance of lasting the whole day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the C7284 for the GasGas EC 300 of 2012 and 2013 and of 2018 and 2019, as well as for the XC 300 of 2018, each time at the original clutch mount. For 2012 and 2013 the C7283 is listed too, and that lever covers all Spanish-built EC 300s from 2003 to 2015. The years 2014 to 2017 are not on the C7284's list; GasGas built no 2016 model. The folding brake lever for the EC 300, the B8206, is listed from 2003 to 2019.
Road Approval
The C7284 carries no German ABE. Even if your EC 300 is registered, the lever is not approved for public roads; it is intended for off-road riding and competition.
