DescriptionThe whole story▼
Anyone who rides a Bonneville two-up knows the moment: the lights change, the clutch comes out a fraction too quickly, and the passenger's helmet meets yours. The bike's long, flat seat invites company, and riding smoothly with company starts at the left lever. The Accossato ESC777 is a CNC-machined clutch lever for the Triumph Bonneville from 2005 to 2015, fitted at the original clutch mounting, with an adjuster that sets how far the blade stands from the grip.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Triumph Bonneville, 2005 to 2015
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
- Reach to the grip adjustable
- Blade lengths short, standard (about 138 mm) and long, depending on colour
- Anodised aluminium, CNC-machined, black hub with coloured blade
- Fixed design, no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
The ESC777 is cut from aluminium on CNC machines and then anodised in two tones. Its black hub houses the pivot and the reach adjuster, and the blade comes in black, silver, gold, blue, green, orange or red. The lever is a single rigid part. With no joint in the middle that could develop play, the point where the clutch begins to bite stays in the same place from the first pull of the day to the last, and the anodised finish keeps its colour where the fingers wear against it.
Smooth Starts With a Passenger
With two people on board, the Bonneville still pulls away easily, but every jolt is felt twice. The trick is to let the clutch take up slowly through the friction zone while the throttle opens gently, and that is much easier when the friction zone sits where your fingers have the most feeling. For most riders that is around the middle of the fingers rather than at the tips. The ESC777's adjuster lets you move the blade until the bite point lands there. A longer blade helps in a different way: its extra leverage makes the pull lighter, so holding the clutch in during a long red light is less tiring. The long ESC777 comes in orange, gold, blue or green. If you prefer the original proportions, the standard blade is made in every colour, and it is the one to choose in black or red.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESC777 for the Bonneville 900 from 2005 to 2015, including the EFI bikes from 2008. It is one of two Accossato clutch levers for the Bonneville; the other, the EST333, is listed for the Bonneville Black from 2006 to 2015. If you are not sure which your bike takes, compare the original lever with the photos of both products. For the brake side of the Bonneville, Accossato offers the EDF014, listed from 2006 to 2016.
Road Approval
This clutch lever has no documented German ABE and is offered for track use.
