DescriptionThe whole story

A naked bike has nothing behind the rider, so a hard stop puts the whole GSX-S1000F on the front tyre. Here the shape is the B005, drawn for the Brembo caliper and measuring 102.2 by 42.0 mm. The B005 in EXR is the harder of the two mixtures ZCOO currently lists for the GSX-S1000F.

Key Features

  • The B005 is one of 16 shapes ZCOO builds; this is the one your Brembo caliper takes
  • Part number Z-B005-EXR, EAN 4950545771773
  • Heat spreads across the whole 102.2 by 42.0 mm face instead of concentrating at the leading edge
  • Identical B005 geometry to the EX Race version, so switching compounds on the GSX-S1000F changes nothing about fitting
  • One pack holds the two pads for a single caliper - a GSX-S1000F with twin front discs therefore needs two packs
  • ZCOO specifies this reference for the Suzuki GSX-S1000F directly, not by cross-reference from a similar machine

Construction and Material Quality

The B005 is a racing part in the way it is made, not only in the way it is sold. Because the B005 is sintered rather than resin-bonded, there is no binder to cook out at the top of the range. For the rider of a GSX-S1000F the whole of that engineering shows up as one thing: a lever that means the same on the last stop as on the first.

Performance and Feel

Choosing between EX Race and EXR on a GSX-S1000F comes down to what you want back. It is rated at or above the EXC Endurance compound it succeeds, and EXC already outlasted EX Race by roughly a factor of two. Which matters most on a GSX-S1000F, where the rider's own weight is part of the braking load.

Fitment and Compatibility

Listed by ZCOO for the Suzuki GSX-S1000F, model years 2015 to 2023, on the Brembo caliper. The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Nothing in the ZCOO range fits the rear axle of the GSX-S1000F. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
