DescriptionThe whole story

On a machine like the Husqvarna VITPILEN 801 the front brake is a steering input as much as a stopping device. The B002 is ZCOO's shape for the Brembo caliper of the Husqvarna VITPILEN 801, 75.5 mm long and 8.5 mm thick. On the Husqvarna VITPILEN 801 the B002 is now available in EXR, the compound that carries ZCOO's endurance programme.

Key Features

  • The B002 is dimensionally stable under the clamping load a Brembo caliper generates
  • Durability equal to or better than EXC Endurance, which itself lasted around twice as long as EX Race
  • Wear stays even across the 75.5 mm of friction face rather than concentrating at the leading edge
  • Predictable in the wet, because the compound does not need temperature to start working on a VITPILEN 801
  • The friction material and the B002 plate are made in the same Japanese plant
  • ZCOO specifies this reference for the Husqvarna VITPILEN 801 directly, not by cross-reference from a similar machine

Construction and Material Quality

ZCOO builds the B002 the same way whether it ends up on a VITPILEN 801 or on a race bike. A Brembo caliper spreads under peak line pressure, and a plate that yields with it moves the contact patch onto the pad's edges. Both details exist so the B002 keeps its pressure distribution honest as it wears down.

Performance and Feel

EXC Endurance was built for race distance and behaved like it: strong once hot, vague before. ZCOO specified a new backing plate alloy for the compound, and on a pad that reaches the top of its window repeatedly the plate is doing structural work throughout. Where the front brake is also a steering input, the release characteristic is the whole conversation.

Fitment and Compatibility

Listed by ZCOO for the Husqvarna VITPILEN 801, model years 2025 to 2026, on the Brembo caliper. The B002 fits the front axle of the VITPILEN 801 and nothing else. The same B002 shape covers 75 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 75.5 mm length and 55.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
