DescriptionThe whole story

On a machine like the Kawasaki Z900RS SE the discs are part of the design, not just part of the chassis. ZCOO answers with the B007, 85.0 by 51.0 mm of ceramic-sintered friction material cut for the Brembo caliper. In the B007 the mixture is ceramic-sintered EX Race, mixed for a flat curve rather than a sharp first bite.

Key Features

  • Predictable in the wet, because the compound does not need temperature to start working on a Z900RS SE
  • The friction blocks are separated so the B007 material can expand into the gaps rather than against itself
  • Consistent lever travel as the pad thins, so the bite point on the Z900RS SE does not creep between services
  • Listed for the Kawasaki Z900RS SE across 5 model years (2022 to 2026)
  • Sized for the braking energy a 948 cc machine generates, not scaled down from a larger reference
  • Country of origin Japan; ZCOO does not source its friction material outside its own plant

Construction and Material Quality

Construction on the B007 follows ZCOO's racing practice throughout. At 8.0 mm the B007 carries its ceramic layer on a plate cut to fill the Brembo caliper window exactly. Together they remove the two things that normally end a sintered pad, and the B007 is built against both: fade at the top of the range, and the friction layer lifting away.

Performance and Feel

Fitted to a Z900RS SE, EX Race changes how the brake behaves rather than how hard it stops. The harder EXC Endurance mixture bit sooner and lasted longer, but asked considerably more of a Z900RS SE disc than the B007 in EX Race does. On a Z900RS SE that means a brake which behaves the same in February traffic and on an August pass.

Fitment and Compatibility

ZCOO catalogues the B007 for the Z900RS SE of 2022 to 2026. The B007 fits the front axle of the Z900RS SE and nothing else. The same B007 shape covers 111 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 85.0 mm length and 51.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
