DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born on the pit lane and honed under the extreme demands of MotoGP and WSBK competition, the TK Dischi Freno SBK 6.0 brake disc kit delivers genuine race-derived stopping power to your Yamaha YZF-R6. Engineered specifically for the 2017-2026 R6, these Italian-made discs combine a 6.0 mm braking surface with precisely angled drillings to give you shorter, more consistent stops whether you are chasing lap times or carving through a mountain pass.
Key Features
- Race-developed 6.0 mm disc thickness engineered for maximum load capacity and consistent braking power under sustained, hard use — verify caliper compatibility before fitting.
- Angled drillings reduce rotating mass for more agile turn-in and sharper directional changes at corner entry.
- Up to 20% lower operating temperatures compared to solid discs, keeping brake pad compounds in their optimum working window and eliminating fade on long braking zones.
- Extended brake pad service life as a direct result of more even heat distribution across the friction ring.
- Certified Italian materials and manufacture — the same supply chain feeding Superbike World Championship teams.
- Inner carrier available in hard-anodised, black, red or blue to complement your R6's livery. Note: lead times for red and blue variants may be extended.
Track Performance
On a circuit, the margin between a good lap and a great one often comes down to brake confidence. The SBK 6.0 discs were developed and track-tested in the highest levels of motorcycle racing, where consistent feel and fade-free performance over an entire race distance are non-negotiable. The 30 mm friction ring width and 320 mm diameter (330 mm option available) give the R6's calipers a full, progressive bite, while the reduced unsprung rotational mass sharpens the front end's response through slow-speed chicanes and tight hairpins alike.
Road & Commuter Use
The same properties that make the SBK 6.0 exceptional on track translate directly to road riding. Greater wet-weather safety comes from the angled drillings channelling water and debris away from the pad face, and the lower thermal load means that even spirited back-road riding rarely pushes temperatures into a range where performance degrades. You get maximum safety with less lever effort — a genuine daily advantage.
Fitment & Compatibility
This kit is designed exclusively for the Yamaha YZF-R6 covering model years 2017 through 2026. The set includes one left and one right disc. Before installation, confirm that your existing brake calipers are compatible with the 6.0 mm disc thickness.
