Triumph renamed the Street Twin to Speed Twin 900 for 2023, and the change was to the badge rather than to the machine underneath it. That leaves a trap in any parts catalogue, because filter listings are organised by model name: look up the bike you believe you own and you can land on the element catalogued under the earlier name. The finer medium answers that, and it charges for it in flow — the two always move together, so the choice is a trade rather than a step up a ladder. It should also be said plainly that a drop-in element does not make a series Speed Twin noticeably stronger. The gain is a lower and steadier intake resistance, and an end to buying panels.
Care and cleaning
Service the PM217P14 with compressed air on the clean side, blown outwards so the deposit leaves the way it arrived. After a dusty stretch of the year, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until the water runs clear.
