DescriptionThe whole story▼
Forged from premium magnesium by OZ's SBK Racing division, the Cattiva wheel set represents the lightest wheel in the entire OZ range — an uncompromising track tool engineered to deliver measurable gains in handling, agility and lap times on the Kawasaki ZX-6R, 636 and RR across all model years from 2007 to 2026.
Key Features
- Forged magnesium construction: the lightest wheel OZ produces, delivering a significant reduction in rotating mass for sharper throttle response and more precise steering feedback.
- Six-spoke Cattiva design developed by the OZ SBK Racing department — optimised aerodynamically and structurally for track use at the highest level.
- Complete front and rear wheel set: direct, drop-in replacement for the standard Kawasaki ZX-6R/636/RR wheels with no frame modification required.
- Premium ancillaries included: high-quality bearings, aluminium angle-type tyre valves, and spacers where required, plus a sprocket carrier (note: the original rear sprocket is not compatible).
- Made in Italy to OZ's exacting motorsport manufacturing standards, ensuring long-term reliability even under sustained race loads.
Build Quality and Materials
The Cattiva's defining characteristic is its forged magnesium alloy structure. Where cast aluminium wheels rely on bulk for strength, forged magnesium achieves superior rigidity at a fraction of the weight. The result is a dramatic reduction in unsprung and rotating mass — the two figures that matter most for real-world corner entry, mid-corner balance and drive off the apex. Every gram removed from the wheel has a disproportionate effect on handling compared to equivalent mass removed from the chassis, and OZ has exploited this principle to its logical extreme with the Cattiva.
Manufacture takes place entirely in Italy, where OZ has produced motorsport wheels for world championship campaigns for decades. Tolerances are held to race-level standards, and each wheel undergoes quality control consistent with OZ's SBK and circuit-racing programmes.
Track Performance
The six-spoke layout is not simply aesthetic. It is the product of OZ's racing engineering team, balancing spoke cross-section against rotational inertia to produce a wheel that reacts instantly to steering input and resists flex under heavy braking. At the speeds and cornering loads generated by a ZX-6R on circuit, that rigidity translates directly into confidence and consistency. The reduced gyroscopic effect from the lower rotating mass also lightens the steering feel, allowing quicker direction changes through chicanes and slow-speed hairpins without any loss of high-speed stability.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel set has been developed specifically for the following models:
- Kawasaki ZX-6R — 2007 to 2026
- Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 — 2007 to 2026
- Kawasaki ZX-6R RR — 2007 to 2026
The set replaces the original front and rear wheels directly. Spacers are supplied where fitment requires them. A sprocket carrier is included; however, the original Kawasaki rear sprocket is not compatible and must be replaced accordingly. These wheels are optimised exclusively for track use.
