DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born on the racetrack and refined over decades of motorsport heritage, the Öhlins TTX GP shock absorber HO 469 is a purpose-engineered rear suspension unit for the Honda CBR 600 RR spanning model years 2007 to 2025. Its signature twin-tube technology and external piggyback reservoir mark it immediately as a serious performance component — one that transforms the CBR's chassis response with the kind of precision that has made the Öhlins TTX family a fixture in World Superbike and MotoGP paddocks alike.
Key Features
- Twin-tube gas pressure damper with fixed external piggyback reservoir for consistent, fade-free damping under sustained hard use.
- Fully adjustable compression and rebound damping, allowing precise tuning to suit road, sprint and circuit conditions.
- External hydraulic spring preload adjuster for quick, tool-free ride-height and load compensation without disturbing damping settings.
- 36 mm piston diameter delivers exceptional seal longevity and damping efficiency across the full stroke.
- 60 mm stroke and an overall length of 295 mm (+6/−0 mm) engineered specifically for the CBR 600 RR platform.
- Öhlins spring part number 21040-31 fitted as standard, rated at 95 N/mm for the optimal balance of compliance and control.
Design, Finish and Heritage
The TTX GP wears the unmistakable Öhlins gold finish that has become synonymous with the highest level of suspension engineering. Every external surface reflects the Swedish brand's obsession with quality: precision-machined aluminium reservoir body, anodised adjuster hardware and cleanly routed high-pressure connections that are as visually cohesive as they are functionally purposeful. This is not a cosmetic upgrade — the aesthetic is an honest expression of the engineering beneath it. Öhlins developed the TTX platform in direct collaboration with factory race teams, and the HO 469 carries that lineage into a street-legal package tailored for the CBR 600 RR.
Performance on Road and Track
The piggyback reservoir separates the damping oil from the gas charge, eliminating aeration and cavitation that degrade damping consistency in conventional mono-tube units. The result is damping behaviour that remains predictable whether you are threading through a mountain pass or pushing hard through the final chicane. Rebound and compression circuits are independently adjustable, so dialling in the correct balance for your weight, tyre compound and riding style is straightforward and repeatable. The hydraulic preload adjuster adds a further layer of versatility, accommodating solo or two-up use without requiring spring changes.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Öhlins TTX GP HO 469 is a direct-fit rear shock absorber for the following Honda models:
- Honda CBR 600 RR (2007–2016) — supplied with German type approval (ABE). Approved for use on models without ABS only.
- Honda CBR 600 RR (2017–2022) — German type approval (ABE) in preparation. For use on models without ABS only.
An installation manual is included in the box. For optimum results Öhlins recommends fitting by an authorised Öhlins Service Centre. Always verify ABS fitment before ordering.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its suspension is fitted by an authorised service centre. We are one, and we do the work here: installation, servicing and a proper setup. Ask us and we will include it with the order.
