Where It Sits
51 mm, 45 mm: that is the whole specification, and it has to match what came out. Stainless where corrosion matters, hardened where load matters — the choice is made per position. Öhlins lists these individually because a service usually needs a handful of them. Öhlins gives every washer and spacer its own part number because its length or thickness is part of the internal geometry.
Why the Original
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.
How to Be Sure It Fits
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 21036-05 in this case. dimension a 51 mm, dimension b 45 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Sealing washers are consumables — they take their shape on first assembly and do not seal twice. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once.
Fitting and Setup Service
If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.
