Thread size and length identify the fastener; substituting a hardware-store equivalent is not sensible in a pressurised damper. A spacer sets an internal dimension: preload on a stack, free length, or the position of a piston. Öhlins specifies thread-locking compound by position; not every fastener wants it.

Original Öhlins Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 24629-56 in this case. Öhlins states dimension a 12 mm, dimension b 25 mm, dimension c 20 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk. Sealing washers are consumables — they take their shape on first assembly and do not seal twice.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 24629-56

Category: Spacers

Dimension A: 12 mm

Dimension B: 25 mm

Dimension C: 20 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/24629-56_ca48f8ba-e1f4-45af-b799-92a2d92295c4.png?v=1788880787
