Surface finish is specified in microns, because it decides how quickly the piston band wears.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 21070-03

Where It Sits

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Öhlins machines the head so the bushing bore is concentric with the seal — otherwise the shaft wears one side. Öhlins matches tube and piston as a pair during assembly, which is why the part numbers are specific. The tube carries the end cap threads, so damaged threads mean a new tube rather than a repair.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 21070-03 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. A head that has been over-tightened distorts and stops sealing. Diameter and length together identify the tube — both are specific to the damper it came from.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21070-03

Category: Cylinder Heads

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21070-03_41336932-e0e1-494a-b59f-cf99da66b1ae.png?v=1788879465
