Materials and Construction
The outer body of the WAPDU405 is nylon, chosen for elasticity rather than hardness. The coloured core is Ergal, light enough not to matter on the MONSTER 821 and strong enough to hold. Replacing the insert costs a fraction of the kit, which is how it is meant to work.
How Axle Protection Works
Protection here is a matter of millimetres — the slider has to reach past the axle nut. Splitting the job between two materials is what lets the WAPDU405 be both tough and light. At 200 g the WAPDU405 is lighter than the fasteners it replaces on some machines.
Installation
The WAPDU405 goes onto the MONSTER 821 with the bike on a stand and nothing dismantled. Thread-locking compound is sensible on a MONSTER 821 that sees track use. Colour is the only choice to make — 2 of them, Black, Red, all fitting the MONSTER 821 the same way.
Fitment
Fitment is the Ducati MONSTER 821, 2014 to 2021. It uses the mounting points the MONSTER 821 already carries, so nothing is drilled or fabricated.

The WAPDU405 kit is sold complete; the coloured inserts are the only item also listed separately. Nothing in the WAPDU405 box is specific to a colour, so a later change of finish is just the visible part.
