DescriptionThe whole story▼
A naked CB1000R shows the mount as clearly as it shows the tank. The OBT008 is the front bracket: 60.6 mm by 90.3 mm, black anodised, 10 g. There is no colour choice here — the OBT008 is black. The 999 cc CB1000R takes it with the standard fittings.
Key Features
- Reversible — the original part goes back on the CB1000R any time
- Decides where the reservoir ends up on the CB1000R
- Steel-free so nothing corrodes into the CB1000R fitting
- It is the smallest line on the order
- Made in Italy
- The OBT008 is machined from solid, not cast or pressed
Maintenance
Check the bracket fasteners on the CB1000R at the same interval as the bar clamps. Nothing else about the OBT008 wears in normal use.
Why the Bracket Matters
Position decides whether the hose runs clean or kinks on a CB1000R. The OBT008 sets the reservoir at 60.6 mm height with 90.3 mm of projection. One bracket per reservoir — the CB1000R needs the tank ordered alongside.
Fitment and Compatibility
The listing is for the CB1000R and the years 2008 to 2026. LighTech lists it as adaptable rather than model-specific, so check the position on the CB1000R first.
In the Workshop
The OBT008 replaces an existing part on the CB1000R rather than adding one. Mount it so the reservoir sits above the master cylinder on the CB1000R, never below. Nothing on the CB1000R is drilled or cut.
What Is in the Box
The OBT008 is supplied as a single bracket with its fasteners. The part number is all you need to quote for a repeat order on the CB1000R.
What You Also Need
LighTech sells this mount on its own. It carries the LighTech reservoirs OBT001, OBT006 and OBT007, which are ordered separately. A complete installation on the CB1000R is one tank plus one bracket.
Regulations and the Hydraulic Circuit
On a CB1000R this component carries brake or clutch fluid under pressure. LighTech does not certify the OBT008 for road use, and neither do we. If the CB1000R is used on public roads, treat this as a brake-system modification: inspection body first, workshop check after.
