DescriptionThe whole story▼
Designed around the rider first and the lap timer second, the LighTech FTRDU016/W rearset system for the Ducati Panigale 1199, 1199 S and 1199 R (2012–2017) delivers a level of ergonomic refinement that makes long track sessions and spirited road miles genuinely comfortable. Every adjustment point — footpeg height and fore-aft position — can be dialled in to match your riding style precisely, so your body works with the bike rather than against it, whether you are threading through a technical chicane or settling in for a cross-country sprint.
Key Features
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium for a combination of exceptional rigidity and low unsprung mass
- Multiple footpeg positions adjustable in both height and fore-aft reach, allowing a truly personalised riding triangle
- Three precision ball bearings per lever ensure completely play-free, consistent shifting under full racing load
- Available in fixed or folding footpeg variants — FTRDU016 (fixed) and FTRDU016W (folding) — to suit track and road preference
- All individual components available as separate spare parts, protecting your long-term investment
- Supplied complete and ready to fit, including all necessary mounting hardware
GP-Shift Engineering
The FTRDU016/W is engineered exclusively for GP-Shift (reverse shift pattern) operation. This is the same gear-change configuration used in MotoGP and World Superbike competition, where upshifts are made by pushing the lever down and downshifts by lifting it — the opposite of the standard road pattern. The architecture of this rearset cannot be converted to a standard shift pattern, so it is ideally suited to dedicated track bikes or road riders who have made a permanent switch to GP-Shift.
The ball-bearing pivot design eliminates the vague, notchy feel that plagues lesser rearsets. Each shift and brake input is transmitted cleanly and directly, giving you confidence in the feedback you receive from both pedals at all times.
Build Quality
Ergal 7075-T6 is an aerospace-grade aluminium alloy prized for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio — the same material specified by top racing teams for structural components subject to high cyclic loads. LighTech's full CNC machining from billet rather than cast stock means each part is dimensionally consistent, free of internal voids, and finished to a standard that holds up under the thermal and mechanical stresses of hard riding. The result is a rearset that looks as purposeful as it performs.
