DescriptionThe whole story▼
Steeped in LighTech's motorsport heritage and finished to a deep, mirror-like gloss, this carbon rear mudguard transforms the tail section of the Yamaha YZF-R7 into something that looks as purposeful as it performs. Part number CARY0720, it is designed specifically for the YZF-R7 from 2021 to 2026 — a direct-fit component that earns its place on both road and track.
Key Features
- Precision fitment for the Yamaha YZF-R7 (2021–2026) — no modification required for a clean, factory-quality installation
- Autoclave-cured carbon fibre construction delivers exceptional rigidity at a fraction of the weight of the original plastic mudguard
- High-gloss carbon weave finish showcases the raw, woven fibre pattern beneath a deep lacquer coat, giving the R7 an unmistakably race-bred aesthetic
- Keeps mud, standing water and road debris away from the swingarm, linkage and surrounding electrical components
- Easy to mount using the included fixings or adhesive points — no specialist tools needed
- Maintenance is simple: a pH-neutral cleaner is all that is needed to keep the gloss surface looking its best
Craftsmanship and Finish
LighTech has built its reputation over decades of supplying components to racing teams and discerning road riders across Europe. Every mudguard in the CARY0720 range is laid up in high-grade carbon fibre and cured under pressure in an autoclave — the same process used for MotoGP bodywork. The result is a part that is simultaneously lighter than the standard fitment, stiffer under load, and visually striking. The gloss coat is applied over the full weave surface and polished to a deep shine that sets the R7's rear end apart from every stock machine in the paddock.
Road and Track Performance
On the road, the primary job of this mudguard is protection: the sculpted carbon shell channels water and grit away from the swingarm pivot and rear suspension linkage, reducing long-term wear on bearings and seals. On track, the weight saving contributes to a fractionally lower unsprung mass at the rear, and the autoclave construction means the part will not flex or distort even under the heat and vibration of sustained hard riding. The gloss finish is equally at home in the paddock and on the street.
Fitment and Compatibility
This mudguard is designed and manufactured exclusively for the following motorcycle:
- Yamaha YZF-R7 — model years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026
It is not a universal part. The mounting points, profile and dimensions correspond precisely to the OEM rear mudguard on these model years. If you are unsure of compatibility, please contact the Inter-Pace team before ordering.
