DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 036 A restores the G310R's indicator load so smaller units flash correctly.
Key Features
- BMW G310R (2020–2025)
- Restores the indicator circuit load
- Stops the flash rate doubling
- Plugs into BMW's own connector
- For LED or removed indicators
- Standard units refit at any time
A First Motorcycle
The G310R sells to riders on a restricted licence, and modifying it is part of the appeal. Indicators are the cheapest visible change available.
Built With TVS
BMW developed the 310 platform with an Indian partner and builds it there, which is how the price is reached. The engineering came from Munich.
Seven Hundred and Eighty-Five Millimetres
Seat height, low enough that almost anybody can get both feet down. On a first bike that matters more than any other figure.
Reversible
Refit the standard indicators and unplug the eliminator, and the circuit behaves as before.
Thirty-Four Horsepower
From 313 cc, which is enough to keep up with anything in a city and modest enough to learn on. BMW pitched the number carefully and the bike is better for the restraint.
What the Relay Is Doing
Counting milliamps. It has no other way of knowing whether an indicator is present, which is why removing one changes the flash rate immediately.
Which One You Need
The bike decides, not the model year. BMW changed suppliers partway through several runs and both connectors appear on the same models.
Aftermarket Indicators
Small LED units draw a fraction of what a filament bulb does, and the relay reads that as a failure. The eliminator makes up the difference.
A Legal Requirement, Not a Style Choice
Indicators have to be a certain size, a certain distance apart and visible from specified angles. A great many aftermarket units meet none of those requirements, which is worth knowing before fitting them to a road bike.
Winter Finds the Connectors
Salt reaches the indicator plugs as readily as it reaches anything else at the extremities of a motorcycle. Anybody opening those connectors for the first time in five years should expect to clean them before anything gets plugged back in.
